Teacher Expectations for Art
Students are expected to be prepared and focused in art class. Everyone is expected to follow the class rules: walking, not running in the classroom, using a quiet voice when speaking, treating others kindly, and taking care of materials. It is also important to leave the classroom in the same condition it was when you arrived to class.
Formative Assessment
Art projects are the basis for the majority of the class grades. Formative assessments are given for each project based on the art standards, which are Creating, Presenting, Responding, and Connecting. These assessments account for 60% of the overall grade for the project
Summative Assessment
Upon completion of a project, students will be given a summative assessment based on creativity and the overall appearance of the final product. These assessments account for 40% of the overall grade for the project
If you have any questions about any of the grades, please feel free to contact me. My e-mail address is [email protected].
Thank you,
